Busch Gardens Raises Prices
Tampa's Busch Gardens raised its one-day admission by $3.20 to $43.70 with tax,
for adults. Tickets for children ages 3 to 9 will cost $37.30 and senior citizens will
pay $40.50.
A Busch shokesman said in the last 18 months they have added "Edge of Africa",
"Akbar's Adventures", "Lory Landing" and now are building "Gwazi", a dual wooden
coaster that is supposed to open in June. It was stated that this is more new attractions
than normally they would have in several years combined.
The article states that Busch's adult rate is still less than one-day tickets at Disney theme
parks, which cost $44.52 with tax. Disney hasn't announced its 1999 rates yet.
The article also states that Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven raised its adult rate by $1.00,
to $31.95, but dropped the children's rate by $6.00, to $14.95.
Universal Studios in Orlando has kept single-day prices at $42.00 without tax for adults.
and $34.00 for children, a Universal spokesman said.
