Splashdown Divers - The Splashdown is a U.S.C.G. certified, 38 foot custom dive boat that operates out of the Boynton Beach, FL Inlet. Owned and operated by Capt/Marine Biologist Lynn Simmons, the Splashdown features some of the best drift diving and wreck diving in Florida. Delray Beach:
Crest Theatre - the building dates back to 1926. In January 1991 renovations were complete and the Crest is now a member of Historic American Theatres. It holds a variety of events ranging from Broadway caliber drama and musicals to concerts by nationally known artists. For information and tickets call 561/243-3183.
The Cornell Museum - built in 1913, restored in 1991, it features an array of art exhibits and historical artifacts year-round. The museum also features permanent exhibits that pay homage to the city's unique history. For information and gallery hours call 561/243-7922.
The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens - It is stated that this is the only museum of Japanese culture in the United States. On land originally donated by a Japanese farmer, George Morikami, this 200-acre Park has become one of Palm Beach County's top tourist attractions. Recently, the museum expanded into a $4.5 million, 32,000 square foot facility, It features a library, classrooms, 230-seat auditorium and computer technology that allows visitors to "interact" with exhibits.This is all surrounded by lovely gardens, a waterfall and a forest of pine trees. Palm Beach Photographic Centre - a learning facility where workshops are offered in Digital Imaging, Photography, FotoCamp and FotoFusion. This is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education, preservation and promotion of photography and digital imaging. For more information call 561/276-9797.
Cason Cottage Museum - this is a completely restored "Old Florida" home devoted to the history of Delray. There are frequent exhibits on local history and Delray's growth through the decades. Privatetours are available.
The Delray Beach Playhouse - 950 NW Ninth St. - this is one of the nation's oldest and most successful community theaters. For information call 561/272-1281.
