First time around.....John Glenn....again October 29, 1998 - Kennedy Space Center.

The person who piloted the first U.S. manned orbital flight went around the earth three times. That was John Glenn in 1962 in the Mercury-Atlas 6, "Friendship 7".

Now, over 25 years later, he will again put on an Astronaut’s suit (much lighter this time) and blast off on October 29, 1998 (target date) on a nine-day flight on Discovery.

There will many congratulations when the flight returns to earth, which is now scheduled for November 7th, at 12:04pm.
