5 February 2000 There were two interesting articles this week in Emerald Coast Papers concerning the red tide that has plagued this area. One relates to the testing of oysters taken from Choctawhatchee Bay that showed no trace of the algee that causes red tide. The other is the good news that dolphin unexplained deaths have stopped. Tests have shown that red tide algee could be the possible cause of similar dolphin deaths near Panama City.
