Heat Wave Precautions

Here are some tips to know and follow during the 'hot days of summer':

  • #1 on the list is WATER (drink 6 or 8 glasses a day)
  • Wearsunblock and a hat
  • Light colors are cooler to wear (dark holds the heat)
  • Caffine and coke should be avoided
  • Eat light
  • Symptons of heat exhaustion: weakness; upset stomach; cramps; dizziness. (find shade and something to drink fast)
  • Symptons of Heat Stroke: not sweating; chills; pale lips; red skin; pulse very rapid and strong. (if symptons are present, get help immediately)

Remember these and your own precautions, and have a great Florida summer/vacation
