Boat Ramps in Central Florida

If you are planning to bring your boat with you on your vacation to Florida, or, you are a Floridian Boater, the following information should be of interest to you. .As boat ownership increased (whether a vacationer or a resident), the number of boat ramps has remained constant in some areas or increased only slightly in others.

According to Florida Department of Environmental Protection, there were 2,410 public boat ramps in the entire state. Using the DMV statistics of boats registered in Central Florida counties, this works out to 286 boats for each ramp. The better known ramps, such as Titusville's Parrish Park on the Indian River, often are filled to capacity by 9am or 10am on a weekend. So, if you plan to launch a boat while visiting, or you're a local resident, it sounds best to 'go early'.
