Places to Visit in Florida
- St. Augustine - (south of Jacksonville on U.S. Route #1)
- The oldest surviving settlement in the U.S. While there, see Fort Castillo de San Marcos, built in1672 It is the oldest masonry fort in the country. Also a schoolhouse built in the mid 18th century, and a cathedral from the 1790s.
- Dry Tortugas National Park - (70 miles west of Key West)
- It has seven coral isles and showcases Fort Jefferson, America's largest 19th century coastal fort.
- Wild Greater Flamingos - (located on Florida Bay, the southernmost tip of Florida)
- These exist in small numbers, no more than thirty.
- The Florida Keys- (Route #1 south of the tip of Florida)
- One hundred and fifty mile string of coral and limestone islands. North America's largest reef system. Divers can encounter hundreds of species of tropical fish under the water.
- Kennedy Spaceport U.S.A. - (on SR405, east of Indian River on Merritt Island)
- Displays of our past space programs and history in space. Rockets, movies, and bus tours (including a bus tour to the Apollo Museum, identifying all of the Apollo missions.)
- Theme Parks - (southwest of Orlando)
- These include Walt Disney World, Epcot Center, Sea World, MGM Studios, and Universal Studios
- Busch Gardens - (in Tampa, on the Gulf coast)
- This attraction is home of the famous Clydesdale Horses; exotic gardens; has a Zoo, including a Penguin Habitat (these flightless birds are found in the Southern Hemisphere, and have webbed feet and paddlelike flippers for swimming and diving); and much more.

- Fort Caroline (France)-1564 / Fort San Maleo (Spain)-1565 (mouth of St. Johns River)
- Fort Castillo de San Marcos-1672 (St. Augustine)
- Fort Matanzas-1742 (south of St. Augustine)

- Fort St. Francis de Pupe-1735 (west of St. Augustine)
